The Six Components to the Building Better Athletes

  1. Athlete Profile: Each athlete that comes to our camp will have a profile developed that assesses movement qualities to properly design programs that meet each athlete’s individual needs. On day one each athlete will be assessed using our movement screen to determine strengths and weaknesses as well as address any limiting factors for performance.
  2. Movement Preparation: Each session will begin with a comprehensive movement prep warm-up that addresses soft tissue quality, proper movement, dynamic/static flexibility, and balance.
  3. Movement Training: Every session will include a combination of speed and multidirectional agility training with a focus on proper mechanics and angles to maximize performance. Additionally, we will spend time each session on plyometrics with an emphasis on how to land and jump properly to reduce the likelihood of injury.
  4. Strength: Strength is your foundation for developing all the qualities related to athletic performance. The key to success with strength training is learning how to complete each primary movement pattern safely before overloading the body. Each session will focus on developing mastery in the following patterns: Squat, Hinge, Vertical and Horizonal Push, Vertical and Horizontal Pull, Lunge, and Loaded Carries.
  5. Energy System Development: Each session will have a block of time dedicated to conditioning to help the body prepare for the metabolic demands of your sport. Our primary focus will be on improving your aerobic capacity to sustain repeated efforts and recover successfully from bouts of training.
  6. Recovery and Regeneration: Each session includes a cool down routine aimed at recovery, flexibility, and education. A combination of stretching, breathing, and instruction on sleep, hydration, and nutrition will be addressed daily.
